Stamped Colored Concrete Slab
For those of you that find regular plain gray concrete to be boring, we do all forms of colored and texture designed concrete as well. At this particular job location, we formed and stamped a terra cotta colored concrete walkway at the entrance to the church. This service is perfect for those remodeling driveways, patios, backyards etc.; to look artistic. Just this past week Bernardo was hired to input a concrete slab of 200 yards for a property manager in Huntington Beach. This was a very large project for us but we managed to complete the job within two days. For this project we were hired to form and pour the concrete slab. With the large crew working to get the job done we were able to set certain crew members to complete a specific part of the concrete slab. At Bernardo we are always organized and are sure to have a plan set so we are well prepared and able to take on any job no matter how large or small it may be. Getting to work on this Concrete Slab
In order to work as planned we started the day bright and early by laying down the rebar all along the flat land where the concrete slab was going to be poured. After all the rebar was positioned correctly we brought in the cement trucks to pour the concrete. We only poured a certain area at a time so that we could work on that one area before it dried. With every area we poured we had to form the cement, which meant we had to level it to an exact 4″ thick throughout the entire area of the slab. For a concrete slab this large we made precise measures so that we wouldn’t make any mistakes. After all the areas were completely poured and leveled we finished off the concrete slab with a broom finish.

Over a long period of time and after constant weight barring over the concrete floor it was time it be removed and replaced. With fresh new concrete poured it created sturdy concrete slabs that will now last for over fifty years with no severe damage. At this Santa Fe Springs truck distribution center there is constant truck flow in and out of the area weighing several tons; which wears down the concrete causing severe damage. After all the debris from the concrete was hauled away we started to construct the forms for the new concrete slabs prior to the new concrete being poured. After the forming for the concrete slabs we poured and placed the cement into the perimeter of the concrete slabs. Once all the concrete was poured we graded the cement to form a leveled 6″ thick concrete slab. After all the concrete slabs were formed and leveled we began to screed the concrete and ended with a light broom finish.

Our customers were nothing less than satisfied with the concrete slab we repaired for them. There was nothing but good remarks by our customers. Bernardo Concrete was asked to do some concrete construction work for a property manager on an industrial building in Redondo Beach, CA. Redondo Beach is in and around Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Gardena, and Hawthorne. The removal and replacement of the concrete slab required a little more work than just demolition and replacement. However, this was a job Bernardo Concrete knew they had the skills and technical know how for and were able to get the job done successfully and on time.
Working to Complete This Concrete Slab
We were first asked to re construct a small area for an industrial building, but we then discovered that there was a change that needed to be made. The small concrete slab now turned into a larger area of concrete to be removed. The beginning process for this project dealt with saw cutting out the area that needed to be removed. Once the previous concrete slab was removed, the next step was to excavate an extra foot of dirt and then the placement of the rebar was done. The rebar was tied and dowels were placed around the perimeter of the slab for a metal table. After the rebar was fully intact our concrete slab was now ready for inspection. The customer requested 4 extra footings to be done. This specific project required a little more work than usual but we still managed to get the job done right. Bernardo Concrete worked on a concrete slab in Paramount for a property manager. When it comes to concrete slabs this type of work requires a lot of time and dedication. The removal part for a concrete slab doesn’t take much work because we usually use our tractors, which does the concrete breaking for us and after all the concrete is broken up we place it in our dump truck where it gets hauled away to the nearest dump. After the area is clear of all the previous concrete we level out the area and set up the forms for the new concrete slab. The finishing part for this entire construction project takes the most time and dedication. We start off the process by pouring the concrete within the set perimeter for the concrete slab. Once the concrete slab is poured, we have to shovel the concrete to get it close to the grade that is must be. Once the shoveling process is complete, we rod and float the cement in order to make the concrete smooth and give it a nice look. After all the floating is done we end with a nice broom finish at the surface.

At Garden Grove Elementary, Bernardo Concrete managed to save the playground by repairing the concrete slab surrounding the play equipment. Our workers made sure to partition off the work area with caution tape for the safety of the students. Next, the crew started the four part process that is basically pour, shovel, rod, and float. While some workmen finish off the pouring and shoveling, others float the concrete slab in order to get the job done on time. Due to the children at the job site, Bernardo concrete clearly taped off the area with caution tape and secured the section so the site would remain safe. When they finished, the outcome was a fully repaired concrete slab.
