Stamped Colored Concrete Slab

For those of you that find regular plain gray concrete to be boring, we do all forms of colored and texture designed concrete as well.  At this particular job location, we formed and stamped a terra cotta colored concrete walkway at the entrance to the church.  This service is perfect for those remodeling driveways, patios, backyards etc.; to look artistic.  As you can see from the photographs the stamp we used for this concrete slab was a rock imitating pattern.  This is a way to show a more diverse form of a simple colored concrete slab.

We always make sure we thoroughly go through the plans for any construction job so that we become well acquainted with the area and know exactly what needs to be done.

Getting Down to The Basic Structure of a Concrete Slab

The base of a concrete slab involves 2×4 wooden planks used to mark off the area where the cement is poured. After the perimeter is established we can then bring in the cement truck and being the process of pouring all the cement needed for the area. At this point the construction is based on our expertise and technique. It requires us to know exactly how to form the concrete slab so that the cement is evenly distributed throughout the area. Once that is done we use our different techniques and tools to smooth out the surface  so that we create what everyone sees simply as a concrete slab.

Getting to work on this Concrete Slab

In order to work as planned we started the day bright and early by laying down the rebar all along the flat land where the concrete slab was going to be poured. After all the rebar was positioned correctly we brought in the cement trucks to pour the concrete. We only poured a certain area at a time so that we could work on that one area before it dried. With every area we poured we had to form the cement, which meant we had to level it to an exact 4″ thick throughout the entire area of the slab. For a concrete slab this large we made precise measures so that we wouldn’t make any mistakes. After all the areas were completely poured and leveled we finished off the concrete slab with a broom finish.

Getting to Work on the New Concrete Slabs

In order to succeed with any concrete slabs it take a large amount of experience and knowledge. At Bernardo we can assure a successful outcome for any concrete construction work we perform. For this job it required us to remove concrete in several different areas and replace it with new concrete slabs. The demo work was done with several bobcats and several crew members. After all the debris from the concrete was hauled away we started to construct the forms for the new concrete slabs prior to the new concrete being poured. After the forming for the concrete slabs we poured and placed the cement into the perimeter of the concrete slabs. Once all the concrete was poured we graded the cement to form a leveled 6″ thick concrete slab. After all the concrete slabs were formed and leveled we began to screed the concrete and ended with a light broom finish.

Concrete Slabs in Santa Fe Springs Get Removed and Replaced is a post from: Bernardo Concrete

Here at B.C.I we specialize not only in removal and replacement of concrete slabs, but also concrete driveways or driveway approaches, flow line construction and repair, and any other type of concrete repairs you may have.  We were recently hired to construct a concrete slab at an industrial building in Carson. The property manager chose us as there concrete contractor to construct the concrete slab because they knew they could count on us to get the job done. After the job was scheduled we completed it in no time and our customer was left pleased with the work we accomplished for them.

Getting to Work on the Concrete Slab

Even for a simple job like concrete slabs, we at Bernardo Concrete always make sure we have our day planned out so that everything runs smoothly. For any project we do we always make sure we mark off the area with barricades so that everyone is well aware of our construction work. Once that was all done we started the saw cut and demo work. After all the concrete was removed we used our bobcats to grade the area to a leveled surface. Now that the area for the concrete slab was leveled, we placed the rebar and started to pour the concrete. After the concrete was poured about 4” thick we used our tools to smooth and form the concrete slab. Once the slab was complete and smooth we used our brooms to sweep the surface to a nice finish. Our customers were nothing less than satisfied with the concrete slab we repaired for them. There was nothing but good remarks by our customers. Working to Complete This Concrete Slab

We were first asked to re construct a small area for an industrial building, but we then discovered that there was a change that needed to be made. The small concrete slab now turned into a larger area of concrete to be removed. The beginning process for this project dealt with saw cutting out the area that needed to be removed. Once the previous concrete slab was removed, the next step was to excavate an extra  foot of dirt and then the placement of the rebar was done. The rebar was tied and dowels were placed around the perimeter of the slab for a metal table. After the rebar was fully intact our concrete slab was now ready for inspection. The customer requested 4 extra  footings to be done. This specific project required a little more work than usual but we still managed to get the job done right. Concrete Slab

At Garden Grove Elementary, Bernardo Concrete managed to save the playground by repairing the concrete slab surrounding the play equipment.  Our workers made sure to partition off the work area with caution tape for the safety of the students.  Next, the crew started the four part process that is basically pour, shovel, rod, and float.  While some workmen finish off the pouring and shoveling, others float the concrete slab in order to get the job done on time.  Due to the children at the job site, Bernardo concrete clearly taped off the area with caution tape and secured the section so the site would remain safe.  When they finished, the outcome was a fully repaired concrete slab.
