A concrete slab or concrete foundation is best described as a horizontal slab of steel enforced concrete. With size and thickness ranging typically from 6" to 12". A concrete slab or foundation is typically used to support a load of weight evenly over a large area often being a floor or ceiling of a building or structure. There are many different kinds of concrete slabs and concrete foundations and great care should be taken when installing one. Because it is the single most important part of a building or home you want to only deal with a highly experienced concrete contractor. Often time’s foundations can crack or break. This can happen due to a myriad of reasons. Sometimes poor craftsmanship or maybe soil destabilization. Other reasons could be as simple as a broken water pipe. No matter what the reason happens to be it can be a mess. Here are a few indicators of slab related problems.
