Just recently we did a concrete construction job at the Anaheim Angels Stadium, where we poured a new concrete slab in tunnel . What was unique about this project was the fact that it was a 6 inch thick concrete slab surrounding an 8 inch thick concrete slab.  Here are some photos of the project:

The Rain is here! And this time of year for us is always a hiccup in our work. It can be very disappointing to have to postpone work until the rain stops. However, we do need the rain be we also need to keep working hard to provide exceptional service to our customers and future customers. Our customer at Cavanaugh Machine Works hired us at B.C.I to repair a concrete slab in their machine operating warehouse. Cavanaugh Machine Works provides ship repairs along with other services. They needed to replace a 9′ x 12′ area of 6″ concrete slab in order to operate a piece of machinery on the surface. We were hired as their concrete repair contractor because they knew we could handle a job like this. Here at Bernardo we know exactly what needs to be done for any concrete repair or concrete construction project. We take pride in all the work we accomplish for any of our customers.

Working to Complete This Concrete Repair

First we saw cut and demo out the area that was to be repaired in order for this concrete slab to be able to withstand the heavy machinery operating on it. After the slab was removed we used our bobcats to dig approximately 21″ for the new 27″ slab.secure we were able to pour the cement for the new concrete slab. For this type of slab we also had to input expansion paper along the edge of the new concrete slab where it meets with the existing concrete slab. This is also used to support a concrete slab. Expansion paper looks often similar to a piece of plywood but is actually made up of  fiber and asphalt compounds.
