Since B.C.I had to do more that just simply input a concrete slab for this concrete construction project we made sure we were organized and aware of what had to be done first in order for this concrete construction job to be complete in a timely matter. The first part of the job started with a complete demo of the existing area. Once that was done we set up the perimeter for both separate slabs.The first slab we started to form was the sand based slab. In order to form this slab we used sand to fill the area. The thickness for both the sand based slab and the concrete slab was 4″ thick. Once the sand was poured we used a screed to smooth or level it out just as it would have been done to the concrete. Now that the sand based slab was established, we were able to place the stone pieces directly on the surface of the sand. After all the stone was placed and leveled with the sand we continued with the concrete slab.
The basics for that concrete slab were very simple. As a contractor, we know exactly what needs to be done to establish a concrete slab. Since the concrete slab was demoed and graded already all that needed to be done was pour the concrete. After the concrete was poured we formed it and made sure it was leveled at 4″ thick. Now that the concrete slab and the sand based slab we poured and formed all that we had to do was create a clean finish for the concrete construction project so that it satisfied our customer.
